3 Simple Ways to Add Orchids to Your Life

Orchids are a favorite flower of many and it is no wonder why — they have a simple yet undeniable elegance and come in an abundance of colors, shapes, and forms. Here are a few simple ways to add orchids to your life…

1. From simple to elaborate centerpieces – Orchids add a beautiful touch for any occasion. Here are some examples…

In the photo at the top of this post, a simple and elegant look is created by taking a single stem Green Cymbidium Orchid cut to a shorter length, adding a little bit of bear grass and placing them in small square cube for a very simple and elegant look. Use just one, or line up a few of these simple arrangements for more impact.

For a more dramatic centerpiece you can use the yellow Oncidium orchids shown here with fresh cut lemons in large square glass cubes. This photo show three cube vases lined up against each other and the yellow orchids with yellow lemons adds pizzazz and a very fresh spirit. The same idea could use limes, oranges, or other fruits. Mix and match colors to match your setting.

Or…use colorful floral foam to add simple distinction to a bunch of fresh cut orchid stems. Use can use complementary or contrasting colors, bright or mellow, to set the right tone and mood. Add further style with a thin ribbon wrapped around the floral foam.

2.  Wear orchids – For an elegant up-do, you can take a few white Cymbidium blooms and pin them in your hair. They are an eye catching add on to any look. With the vast selection of different orchids and colors, the options are endless.

3. Orchids can be used in various ways to help decorate any party scene, from a wedding to a dinner party.

• Hanukkah is the annual eight day Jewish Festival of Lights.
• Hanukkah can be spelt differently. Some spell it Chanukkah while others spell it Hanukkah.
• The Western calendar, the date for the commencement of Chanukah varies every year.
• Lighting of Menorah is the main Hanukkah tradition.
• The Hanukkah candles are added onto the special candelabrum from right to left, but are lit only from left to right.
• ‘Hanerot Hallalu’, an ancient Hanukkah song is recited or sang while lighting the candles.
• According to Chanukkah tradition, the candles on the candelabrum should not blow out until the end of the festival.
• Traditional Hanukkah food is cooked during the festival. Oil is the key ingredient of the foods.
• Gifts are also exchanged during the festival of Hanukkah.
• A game called “dreidel” is a popular Hanukkah tradition.
